Life In British Columbia Canada !!!

This is at Canada Place in Downtown Vancouver.
I moved to Canada from Dubai on the 24th of March 2009.We had done our landing earlier in July 2006 in Toronto.
Now that I am finally in Canada , I really don't know what is the advantage of me coming here. It looked like a good idea at the time of applying for the immigration. At that time my life in Dubai was really average nothing great but when the migration finally came through i was doing really well for myself and then all of a sudden the migration did not seem like a very good idea.
Pesonally I feel that only intelligent well focused people should migrate. One needs to understand very clearly what is the objective for the migration and once one has figured that out then one should also be prepared for what he or she is perpared to sacrifice to achieve this objective. These should not be based on loose fickle minded reasons like Canada is beautiful or the people in Canada are nice or sometimes people migrate because they want to match someone else in the family who has migrated.
From what I have gathered so far the real advantage of migrating to Canada is if one come here when one is just out of scholl or college or one has children who are young . The reason I say this is because for some weird reason our Indian education and Dubai experience is not really recognised here.It is only when one studies in Canada and passes out of a Canadian university that one is recognised in Canada and for that matter even in the US and many other parts of the world.
The bottom line is come to Canada if you wish to do your further studies or to educate your children or if you have the money to start a small business.
Apart from this one can still succeed but the first 3 to 4 years will be a real struggle. It will either make you or break you.It is even more depressing when one comes from a place like Dubai where one was doing really well like I was.

After reading and watching these symbols of US in magazines and newspapers and movies we are finally at the foot of the Statue of Liberty and on the Brooklyn Bridge.
It was amazing to see all these monuments that I once read and dreamed of seeing in person as a kid.

Times Square New York. This place was buzzing , rocking, happenning and whatever you call a place that is full of energy, sounds, aromas, people of all ages, colours, nationalities and religions.

It was extremenly crowded and noisy but despite all this ...I felt at home, not once did Trudy and I feel out of place or unsafe. It was like we had lived there all our lives. We felt like locals.

The atmosphere is so casual and friendly.

Flying aboard the A380 from Dubai to New York. Trudy and me have done our fair bit of air travel , but this was something else.It was a little expensive but as they say "You Only Live Once".This was indeed an experience of a lifetime. There was a lounge bar which served cocktails of your choice and then the snacks were unlimited and tasty.Iam about 6ft tall and I could strectch completely and sleep..

These are some of my childhood friends from Nuvem Goa India.

I have fond memories of my childhood with these guys.So many games, so many fights and so much fun..All of a sudden its all gone.

I moved abroad like many of my other friends and although we would love to have more get togethers like this we just can't.

I hope that one day when we all retire we all meet in Goa and have a few drins and laughs recollecting the good old times.

Thats at Raj's Pub in Majorda Goa India.

How I love Goa , words can never describe the love I have for Goa.

The tragedy though is to really enjoy in Goa you need money and to make that kind of money ,I like so many thousands of Goans have to live and work abroad.

It sounds really exciting when you leave for another country , in fact everyone ,family and freinds included encourage you to go but once you go then the place abroad becomes your base and all of a sudden all your family and neighbours and close friends have grown old or even passed away and that is a really sad feeling that you experience when you visit your hometown after a long while abroad.

Thats Trudy and me at the Infant Jesus shrine in Nasik. This is about a 3 to 4 hour drive from Mumbai.

It was a nice drive and the first time for me.

Trudy and Me at Cafe Leopold in Mumbai,India.

Another iconic spot that was targetted by the terrorists.

Personally I do not like Mumbai that much, But Bandra and Colaba I just love!!!There is somethin about these places that really appeals to me.

I guess its the BUZZ of the place

Thats Trudy and me outside the Taj Hotel in Colaba Mumbai. This was just after the attacks on the Taj by the terrorists. It was sad to see the Taj mauled and mutilated on the television.
I do not know what it was that the terrorists were trying to achieve by venting out their frustration on the Taj.From that point of view I find these acts of terrorism totally senseless and cowardly.A brave man fights face to face and man to man.
I also do not believe that any religion in the world supports terrorism.
It is widely believed that the Terrorists came from across the border but within the boundries of India itself, are we safe from acts of violence.
What about certain groups within India resorting to violence to gain political milegae or cheap publicity.Acts of violence are ultimaletly acts of terror and it deprives the society the right to live their life in peace and harmony.
